Foreign Languages Applied to International Negotiations

Established in 2009, the Undergraduate Course in Foreign Languages Applied to International Negotiations (LEA-NI, in Portuguese) addresses the emerging needs of modern organizational dynamics. The course aims to develop a new professional profile capable of engaging in international dialogues and exchanges.

Graduates from this course will have fundamental qualifications in cultural and communicative competence in three foreign languages—English, French, and Spanish—in addition to international negotiation skills. They will be equipped to advise, mediate, and coordinate various international exchanges, both commercial and non-commercial, using a multi and interdisciplinary approach.

With this qualification, a Bachelor in LEA-NI will be able to work in public or private organizations, consultancy and advisory offices, and various sectors of human activity. This includes areas such as culture, tourism, leisure, environment, commerce, se rvices, and international trade management, particularly for those with or seeking international engagement.

The course duration is a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 academic periods, with classes held in the afternoon. The current pedagogical project requires 3,165 hours, equivalent to 211 credits. Admission to the LEA course is through the Unified Selection System (Sisu in Portuguese), with an annual intake.
